ATC Background Papers made with Adirondack Spray Colour Washes.

Last night I thought I would make a stack of background papers before I went to bed - ready for when the mood strikes to make ATC's.

I used Adirondack spray colour washes plus a spritz of mica powder in water to blend the colours and add a bit of glitz. I love those sprays but they are sooo messy so I put the card into a box lined with paper towels before spraying to contain the mess.
When I have finished the paper towels were soaked in ink but actually looked quite pretty so it was a shame to throw them away (so I didn't!) Instead I sandwiched them between sheets of white card - rubbed the card well so that they were nice and flat and left overnight to dry.

Here is the result. They have a really nice texture.

And as I hate to throw anything away.....here are the backgrounds cut up from the two sheets of card that the towels were pressed between. 3 for the price of 1 LOL!

Ive got loads of the paper towels soaked in the colour washes and what i did was lay them on card and spritz with water. Then i got my speedroller out and pressed them all. The beautiful patterns have been used in a number of my backgrounds ove made up. I love these techniques. keep them rolling hun.
